Codes of Conduct
'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you'
Manners Maketh Man & Woman

Conduct yourself with honour, respect and dignity. The door swings both ways.
Codes of conduct are in essence really quite simple and should reflect the subtitle above. The Physics Law of 'Cause and Effect' also applies to human behaviour.
"What goes around, will come around."
'You reap what you sow!"
SeTs is a higher-education site and community, so we do expect higher standards of conduct in order to create and preserve a learned and pleasant commúnity for all our members. The forums are divided into two types, public discussion forums, and private study groups.
-
The Study Groups are generally private and the content and media shared there is for those groups and their members alone, This is so that all may feel free to share without reservations.
-
The Discussion Forums are for study group members to intermingle with public visitors (site members) and hence are not so tightly restricted for sharing elsewhere. These require you YOU to have more care about what you share there.
Remember, ALWAYS READ the specific group's rule of conduct before you post or share any content.

Online Community Guidelines and Tips
To make sure using this forum is a great experience for everyone, please follow these tips:
Be respectful
Everyone has a right to their ideas and opinions. It is how you present and communicate them that we all have to pay careful attention to.
Stay on topic
Try to keep posts relevant to the theme of the forum.
Check for duplicate content
Someone might have already created a post similar to yours, or answered your question.
Copyright infringement and trademark
When sharing other people’s posts, images, and other content, do not infringe on their copyright or claim other people’s materials as your own. Remember, SeTs reserves all Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and copyrights on all and any of the programmes, content and materials it creates and presents on this site, in the associated coaching and learning management systems, or in live teaching and coaching sessions.
The Rule of the 7 Seas
And, remember, this is an education and training site for considered and considerate conversation, not Twitter for Twittering Twits!
At all times, as you navigate and sail around this site, observe the 'Rule of the 7C's':
- Courteous & Congenial
- Constructive
- Current (Relevant and Topical)
- Correct (evidence & justifications)
- Coherent
- Concise
- Consistent
The 7 C's provide a checklist for all your posts and comments to ensure they are adequately considered before hitting the hotsend button. If you do make a controversial statement, you must be prepared to discuss and defend it in an appropriate manner.
As always, keep it on topic, and leave comments on posts.
Thanks for being a part of this community and sharing your voice.
Codes of Conduct During Training Classes
Participation, Safety & Booking Terms
1. Respectful conduct
All participants are expected to treat instructors, fellow participants, staff and other visitors with respect. Follow the instructor's directions, observe the activity rules and use equipment responsibly.
Aggressive, threatening, harassing or deliberately unsafe behaviour may result in removal from a session. Further participation may be restricted where the circumstances justify it. Any decision will take account of the nature and seriousness of the incident, participant safety and the requirements of the activity.
2. Health and safe participation
Participants should consider whether they can take part safely and follow any activity-specific guidance provided before booking. Please tell the instructor about relevant limitations, injuries or other circumstances that could materially affect safe participation. Share only information reasonably needed to assess and manage the risk, using the contact method provided for the activity. The instructor has the final say in what is considered 'reasonably needed.'
If a safety concern arises, the instructor may modify an activity, recommend an alternative or decline participation where necessary. If you are uncertain whether an activity is suitable for you, seek appropriate professional advice before taking part and consulot with the instructor.
3. Security, safeguards and responsible training
Some activities, particularly martial arts and self-defence, require additional attention to safeguarding, supervision and responsible use of learned skills. Participants must follow the relevant safety rules and must not use training to threaten, intimidate or deliberately harm others outside legitimate and appropriate contexts. Where an activity requires specific safeguards, checks or eligibility criteria, these will be explained separately, including what information is required and how it will be handled. Additional screening and supervision requirements may be required if appropriate to the activity.
4. Booking, cancellations and refunds
Before booking, review the activity listing for its price, date, location, participant requirements and cancellation conditions. Any cancellation, rescheduling or refund arrangements applicable to the booking will be stated in the relevant booking terms. If SeTs Ryu or the activity provider cancels a session, participants will be informed of the applicable options. If a participant is removed from a session or future sessions because of misconduct or a safety concern, any refund decision will be handled under the applicable terms and conditions in the booking policies.
5. Privacy and personal information
All particpants are expected to respect the personal information of others with whom they are training or in contact with as customers of SeTs Ryu or members of its events and activities. Everyone, especially meetup organisers of organic study groups are held accountable to the same degree as SeTs Ryu itself. Only information reasonably necessary for the stated purpose should be shared. Sensitive information should be shared through an appropriate channel rather than posted in public forums or ordinary group discussions. Please consult the relevant privacy notice for details of data use, access, retention and contact arrangements.
6. Admission and participation decisions
SeTs Ryu and the relevant activity provider may take reasonable steps to protect participants, instructors and the wider community. Where admission or continued participation must be refused for a safety, conduct or eligibility reason, the decision will be based on the circumstances and applicable requirements. Any review, cancellation or refund arrangements will follow the relevant terms and applicable policies. By booking, participants agree to follow the activity-specific instructions and applicable participation terms.
