SeTs Ryu discussion forums are constructed in three layers or tiers.

1. ​ Public Discussion Groups that any site member can participate in. In these groups the discussions are less cpnfidential and intended to provide a broad outreach and discussion audience.

2. Community Study Groups are a second tier of discussion forums for existing and past participants to support each other and share and discuss their ideas and experiences as part of a peer2peer lifelong learning group. These groups are visible but can only be read and participated in by the invited members. These groups are suitable for sharing course and class specific information and supporting each other in the learning process beyond the borders of the classroom or course. 

3. Private Study Groups are discussion and tutoring forums for customers currently participating in existing courses and classes. They are hidden and for their members only, which makes them more suitable for sharing and discussing more personally confidential information and issues encountered in the learning and training programmes.
